2o19 Class Schedule

10:00am – 10:30am Morning Vinyasa Flow (Jonna) – This session is an invigorating morning yoga practice, connecting movement and breath for all levels of yoga practitioners. 

10:35am-11:05am Yoga for Self-Love (Naomi) – Join Naomi Hurley for Yoga for Self-Love: half an hour of heart-opening, tender poses to help you find happiness in yourself, as yourself, as you are today. 

11:10am-11:40am Kundalini Yoga (Yogi Dave) – This yoga session will be an integration of movement and dynamic breathing techniques that is doable for everyone. By practicing simple yoga exercises one will be able to stretch, strengthen and increase stamina. Breathing techniques will also help release stress, tension and anxiety.

11:45am-12:15pm Gentle Yoga (Wendy) – This a gentle yoga class focusing on relaxation, opening up the body, calming the nervous system and clearing the space in the mind to invoke inner peace. 

11:45am-12:15pm Yoga for Kids Ages 9-12 (Kathy) 

12:20pm-12:50pm Crossfit Fitness (Jason) -At CrossFit Merit, no prior experience is necessary. All of our workouts can be modified to your current ability level. This beginner friendly class will introduce you to CrossFit and how it can help you reach your health and fitness goals. 

12:20pm-12:50pm Tai Chi (Russell) – This class will introduce you to classical Yang style Tai Chi through the instruction of the 24 Step Simplified form. Every class begins with a gentle warm up using Qigong (Self Cultivation) exercises that are a blend of deliberate movement, breathing exercise, and meditation. Included in the Tai Chi practice will be postural basics, including body and arm/hand positions, footwork, and transitions. Some simple applications work will be done as well, although the martial use of Tai Chi is not the goal of this class. Helping you discover something new about yourself is our main focus. 

Whether you are moving for the first time in a while, just getting back into exercise, or already practice some other martial art, you can benefit from this class. Modern research is finding enormous benefit for people dealing with balance or gait issues, mental focus, and stress management, among many other challenges. It’s great exercise for stimulating whole body blood flow and lymph propulsion, both necessary for an active and healthy immune system. 

 

12:55pm-1:25 Yoga for Inner Balance (Mercedes) – Join Mercedes for an all levels practice linking breath, movement, and self reflection to guide you to a state of balance and peace.

12:55pm-1:25 Yoga for Kids (Ages 11 and up)

1:30pm-2:00pm Mindfulness Meditation (Linda) – Come enjoy a guided meditation in mindfulness designed to release that which is no longer serving you for change and or relaxation. This amazing tool can be used daily—Mindful living for living fully.

2:00pm-3:00pm Kirtan (Chip) – Kirtan is a very simple & powerful way to meditate. Kirtan is non-denominational, the Universal language of Spirit, the song of the Soul. It’s effortless & joyful; the music does the work for you as you flow with the melody & rhythm. * The performers & the concert-goers create the experience together. * The chants are sung in Sanskrit. The ancient chants contain powerful renewing & transformative energy that helps us reconnect with the Divinity that resides within all of us. * Singing is the heart of kirtan, and no one cares what you sound like. At a kirtan concert all voices merge together to become One Voice. * “Kirtan is a means of finding our way back to the core of our Being, to our heart, and to our connection with the Divine
